Windsurfing: Jericoacoara, Brazil Wind Direction: E Wind Stength: 20-25 knots Surf / Sea State: Flat, swell on outside Air Temperature: Scorchio! Sea Temperature: Scorchio! Weather: Mucho Sol Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Day off. After spending all of 2 hours covering my 4.6 from top to bottom
with stickers in an attempt to reinforce it, the wind dropped off so ended
up taking out my 5.2 instead. DidnĀ“t really matter though. Solid 2 hour
session always well powered up with my sail rigged flat. Water was flatter
than normal, with no waves and less swell, so easier sailing than normal
for the wind speed, but still sufficiently exciting for me to have a
permanent grin on my face whilst out there. Jumping and gybing was mostly
reasonably good, though nothing special. Did make a fair few dry gybes on
the outside, although they were all very wobbly. Tried a couple of duck
gybes on the inside but with approximately nil success. No really scary
huge jumps of the straight up vertical variety (so no back loop
attempts....) but a few nice long floaty ones, most of which were landed
without spinning out. Even when I do spin out on landing, I have pretty
much got the hang of recovering it now by yanking my back foot towards me,
so I am sailing away from almost all my normal jumps now which is good.
Generally a very comfortable enjoyable sail, with exactly the right kit for
the conditions, resulting in lots of exciting fast reaching over the swell
and some nice jumps and gybes. Nice.
